Ms. King is a geologist specializing in building and leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve clients' high-priority objectives in Africa and the Middle East.

Prior to founding GV, she led mineral exploration programs in Afghanistan for the U.S. Department of Defense, overseeing tenders of large copper and gold exploration targets, small-scale processing initiatives, and exploration throughout Afghanistan and Iraq.

Ms. King offers clients a combination of technical, strategic, and management expertise. She has a degree in Geology and Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College, where she recently was a guest lecturer for the Earth and Oceanographic Science Department.


Chief Operations Officer

Mr. King brings Global Venture clients extensive operational and project development experience with projects in Central America, Middle East and Africa.

His specialty is in leading and administering projects, developing exploration techniques, and leveraging new disruptive technology in the interpretation and mapping of mineral data.

As Global Venture's COO, Mr. King oversees safety and environmental risk management at project scale. He brings years of experience successfully managing small, specialized teams in the United States Military, enabling him to enhance clients' success in challenging environments.


Director, Capital Resources

Mr. Crumpton brings 36+ years of history in the end-user and customer-facing world to Global Venture, where he works with the leadership team to develop, enhance and strengthen partnerships.

He was the Founder of AirTight Mechanical, Inc., which was purchased by Service Logic, the single largest privately held HVAC Mechanical Service Company in the US, in November of 2014.

Mr. Crumpton brings experience building companies that provide out of the box solutions to their customers. Driven by details and passionate about technology, he understands the importance of communication and that downtime is not an option in critical environments.


Director, Strategic Initiatives

As Global Venture’s Director of Strategic Initiatives, Bob Wilson brings GV’s team and clients his 27 years of experience as an Army special operations officer and national security professional.

Prior to joining our team, Bob served as a Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, where he coordinated United States counterterrorism policies across Africa. Throughout his career in the United States Army, Bob led or provided critical support to complex special operations missions in the Middle East, Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Central and South America.

Additionally, Bob has a career-long history of leveraging government, academic, think tank, media, and corporate expertise aimed at informing decision making at the highest levels. He also has considerable experience integrating mineral resource development activities as a critical component of United States national security policy. Bob Wilson holds a MBA from Webster University, a Masters of Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, a Masters of Military Arts and Sciences from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a BS in Finance from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.


Consulting Geologist

Lester Kemp graduated from the Royal School of Mines (Imperial College, University of London) in 1990 and went on to run an exploration camp on the banks of the Demerara River in Guyana for a junior Canadian resources company. Since then Lester has been active in a variety of countries around the world exploring for a range of commodities including gold, platinum, base metals and industrial minerals.

More recently he has been involved in river diversion work for alluvial diamonds in NE Angola as well as exploring for battery metals in the Idaho Cobalt Belt. Additionally, Lester has founded several private resource companies and has raised over $40 million for them from a mixture of private and institutional investors.

Passionate about the use of drones in the mining industry, Lester has founded his own drone videography / photography company.

Ms. Freiberg supports GV clients looking to better understand the dynamics of the natural resources sector in emerging markets.

As a market researcher for GV, Ms. Freiberg provides clients with relevant and accurate updates on their priority geographies and industries that are strengthened by the GV team’s ability to provide ground truth in complex and remote environments.



Amjad is a seasoned Financial Advisory Executive with over 25 years of banking and development finance experience. Throughout his career, Amjad has led and closed multiple “First-of-a-Kind” projects in the energy infrastructure sector across the globe. Amjad’s breadth of experience traverses a wide spectrum of roles, including as a transaction and financial advisor to public sector clients tendering energy projects, private sector clients bidding on power and infrastructure projects and as an in-house advisor responsible for raising debt and equity financing IPP and IWPP projects on a global basis.

Amjad’s most recent role was as Managing Director in Credit Agricole, where he led Financial Advisory teams which raised non-recourse financing totaling in excess of U.S. $35 billion for several landmark, high-profile mandates in the Power and Infrastructure sectors.

Amjad has an AB in Political Science and Economics from Boston College and completed his MA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).



Paul M. Murphy (Managing Director & Founder of Murphy Energy & Infrastructure Consulting, LLC) has over twenty years of experience as a transactional attorney, principally in the areas of project finance, project development, and project contracting. He is a three-time selection to the Who’s Who Legal / Energy, and he is also a member of ASME’s Technology Advisory Panel for Clean Energy.

Paul has extensive experience working in an advisory capacity with the US Department of Energy, the US Department of Commerce, and the US Department of State, as well as with the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Paul is a five-time appointee to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce’s Civilian Nuclear Trade Advisory Committee (CINTAC). He has also advised foreign governments on project development. Paul serves as a member of the faculty for the International Atomic Energy Agency, Argonne National Laboratory, and Texas A&M University for their international training programs on the subjects of financing, contracting, risk management, and project development, and he has taught at the National Defense University.

Paul is a graduate of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs and a graduate of Harvard Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia. Paul is based in the Washington, D.C. area.



Dawn Sewalt is the owner and president of Infostructure Specialists, LLC, a woman-owned small business independent consulting firm that has been established to provide organizations with the knowledge and tools to build and strengthen their corporate infrastructures.

Dawn has a combined 30 years of Program Management and Program Quality Assurance experience managing multi-million-dollar programs in every phase of the program’s lifecycle. She has established a broad technical background in the development, implementation and management and continuity of Program Lifecycles within the Department of Defense, NASA, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Commerce, FBI and private industry.
